Chicken Noodle Soup

I know this may be a bit elementary of me, but who the hell cares. There is a new wave of creativity that is taking hold of hip hop and I am loving it. From finger poppin to the hyphie movement, individuality and dance are starting to matter again. The latest craze that I feel like I must shout out is the new dance, Chicken Noodle Soup. The Chicken Noodle Soup originated in Harlem and like the Harlem Shake, it is definitely going to up the antie for young heads that explore the art of dance as well as hip hop. Check out these cutie pies doing the Chicken Noodle Soup on 106&Park.

Luda's New Haircut

Hip hop is going for an all around new look; slowly but surely. Hopefully the days of wearing "jail braids" will be placed in the hip hop time capsule along with the gumby and biker shorts. Big thank you's to Ludacris, let the trend begin. He has a new look. He's lost the braids and is now rocking a low cut fade. I personally like a nice taper on a man so I'm definitely bout' this.

The new cut comes after Luda says he ran out of styles. From sporting the braids to his signature afro, Ludacris, who's real name is Chris Bridges, wants his fans to see him on another level.

Luda says his fifth album, Release Therapy, will be more serious. The album touches on government and social issues. This will be his final release on Def Jam.

"It's a lot of things that I'm speaking on that I've never talked about," he says. "I felt like people knew who Ludacris was, but people never knew who Chris Bridges was."

While we wait patiently for his new album, we can at least enjoy the new video "Money Maker." You can stream it here

MTV Portrays Black Women as BITCHES (literally)

Many activists such as Spike Lee, have spoke out about the negative and degrading images of black women in hip-hop, but MTV has hit an all time low. Apparently a new animated show on MTV2, "Where My Dogs At?", aired an episode of Snoop Dogg walking two black women on leashes, reinacting his entrance at the MTV awards a few years ago. This time the women were on all fours just like dogs. They also went so far as to crap on the floor. Boy, hip-hop has put the new generation into a true state of emergency. If you'd like to check out the episode click the link below. The show airs on Saturdays at 12:30 PM.
